GOZO — A local man, Karmenu, made waves in the Maltese community after he declared the Gozo Ferry is just a giant floating pastizz. ‘I was surprised, really,’ Karmenu said. ‘I come here every week and never realized why I felt so hungry on the ride.‘
Karmenu highlighted the ferry’s golden crust and puffy appearance, fueling local rumors that the Planning Authority might convert it into a pastry shop. Tourists have begun taking photos at the docks, confused by whether it’s a transport service or a snack stop.
”I thought I was just going to Gozo, but now I want to eat it!”
Local psychologist, Dr. Marija, believes this revelation could impact ferry tourism. ‘Imagine the lines! We’ll have pastizz lovers from Sicily to Canada,’ she pondered. The Gozo Ferry has since adopted a new slogan: ‘Ride the Pastizz, Get to Gozo.‘
At press time, an environmental group stated the new ferry design could lead to pastry-related pollution, as seagulls protested near the docks.
