VALLETTA — In an unprecedented initiative, the Maltese government has decided to replace all traffic lights with traditional Għana singers. Authorities believe the singers not only control traffic flow twice as effectively but also add a touch of cultural charm to the streets. Uwejjja!

Traffic congestion has been a constant problem in Malta, with studies suggesting that conventional traffic signals just aren’t enough. ‘Għana singers will not only instruct drivers when to stop and go, but they’ll do it with style and a catchy tune!’ stated the Chairman of the Planning Authority, Karmenu Aquilina. ‘Just imagine your morning commute filled with the melodies of our beloved local artists.’

“This is a win-win situation! Who doesn’t want to stop for a traffic light and get entertained instead?”

Maltese citizens have responded positively to this music-infused traffic solution. ‘I’ve always wanted to drive to the sound of good Ġana!’ exclaimed Tumas, a local taxi driver who believes he may become the next “Sing and Drive” instructor. ‘I can’t wait to see if I can hire an artist for my trips to the airport.‘

The initiative will be rolled out across the islands, and officials are already planning special “Traffic Gigs” where local singers can perform from raised platforms at roundabouts. ‘We might even make the traffic jams more fun!’ suggested Marija, a bus commuter.

At press time, traffic wardens had reported an unexpected increase in traffic jams, as more commuters stopped for impromptu concerts in the streets.
