VALLETTA — In a groundbreaking decision, the Maltese government has announced a new initiative to replace all roundabouts with oversized inflatable lilos. This radical move aims to promote relaxation, reduce traffic stress, and maybe just give everyone a good laugh.
The plan, dubbed ‘Bouncy Traffic,’ was revealed during a press conference where Minister for Transport and Travel, Pawlu Portelli, said, “We drive too much and relax too little. What better way to ease the traffic than turning our roads into a giant pool party?” Minister Portelli added that the lilos would be placed at every roundabout, allowing drivers to float their way through the summer.
Safety First, or Just Float On?
Local residents expressed mixed reactions. Marija, a Sliema resident, said, “If I have to wait in traffic, I might as well be chilling on a lilo. Just give me a pastizz and I’m set. But how do I change lanes while floating?"
"I can already see the tourists trying to float their cars through the lilos. It’s going to be one big mess!”
As summer rolls in, the government has promised to host ‘Lilo Events’ where families can enjoy inflatable relaxation sessions alongside the road. The Planning Authority has assured citizens that the lilos will be anchored securely to avoid any floating mishaps.
At press time, the local kittens were in full agreement that this was more entertaining than traffic lights.
